Designing a Thoughtful Entry Point Into Faith

A conversational, content-driven landing page for Bellevue Coffee Shop.

A short interactive overview of the Bellevue Coffee Shop landing page.

Summary

I designed a landing page for Champions Centre focused on people exploring life’s deeper questions around anxiety, purpose, relationships, and meaning. Working within an existing brand system, the goal was to create an experience that feels approachable, human, and relevant—removing traditional church language and replacing it with a more conversational tone that builds trust and curiosity.

The Challenge

The page needed to engage people who may be unfamiliar or hesitant about church, while presenting a large amount of video content in a way that felt approachable and not overwhelming. It also needed to stay aligned with established brand guidelines for color, typography, and visual style.

The Approach

I designed the experience to feel more like a conversation than a typical church website. The structure leads with emotional relatability, then gently introduces content, and finally offers a low-pressure next step. Content is organized into simple, human-centered categories to make exploration feel easy and intuitive.

The Outcome

The final design creates a welcoming, low-friction entry point that builds trust, encourages exploration, and makes engaging with content feel natural rather than intimidating.

Context & Constraints

The goal of this page was to reach people who are not actively looking for church, but are searching for answers to real-life challenges. The content needed to feel relevant and accessible, avoiding internal language or assumptions about belief.

The design also needed to adhere to an existing brand system, including typography, color, and overall visual direction. The challenge was to create something that felt distinct in tone while remaining visually consistent.

Design Principles

Relatability first
The experience should immediately reflect real questions people are already asking themselves.

Reduce pressure
Every interaction should feel optional, approachable, and free of urgency.

Clarity through simplicity
Content should be easy to understand and navigate without cognitive overload.

Conversation over presentation
The page should feel like an invitation into dialogue, not a broadcast of information.

Elevation within constraints
The design should feel fresh and human while staying within the established brand system.

Provides a soft, low-pressure invitation that encourages next steps without urgency.

Key Design Decisions

Tone and Language
The headline “Start Here” and supporting copy were intentionally simple and direct, avoiding traditional church phrasing in favor of everyday language.

Question-Led Entry Point
A dedicated section of relatable questions creates an immediate emotional hook, helping users feel seen before introducing any content.

Content Organization
Videos are grouped into themes like mindset, relationships, and purpose, making the experience feel curated rather than like a large content library.

Progressive Engagement
The structure moves from awareness to exploration to action, allowing users to engage at their own pace.

Soft Call to Action
The final section removes pressure by framing the invitation as optional and human, reinforcing trust rather than urgency.

Visual Approach
Rounded shapes, conversational spacing, and approachable layouts help reinforce a tone that feels welcoming rather than institutional.

Visual System

The design builds on the existing brand by using its color palette and typography in a more expressive, human-centered way. Soft shapes, layered sections, and clear hierarchy create a balance between structure and approachability.

Outcome

The final experience transforms a large set of content into a clear and inviting journey that meets users where they are. It builds trust through tone, reduces barriers to engagement, and provides a meaningful first step for people exploring faith.

Designed to increase engagement with message content while creating a low-pressure path toward in-person connection.
